Welcome!
My name is Mary Vaughan, and I am currently a Research Associate at the University of Western Australia working under the supervision of Enrico Valdinoci and Serena Dipierro.

I earned my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Iowa State University in May 2020. My advisor was Pablo Raúl Stinga. After that, I was a RTG Postdoctocal Scholar at the University of Texas at Austin where I was mentored by Luis Caffarelli, Stefania Patrizi, and Matías Delgadino.

My research is in analysis and partial differential equations. I use techniques from PDEs, functional analysis, and calculus of variations to study the behavior of nonlocal and fractional equations. You can learn more on my research page.

The Dreams

In the broad light of day mathematicians check their equations and their proofs leaving no stone unturned in their search for rigor.
But, at night, under the full moon, they dream, they float among the stars and wonder at the miracles of the heavens.
They are inspired. Without dreams there is no art, no mathematics, no life.
